  • 63. How to handle the substrate for creating curved shapes?

To create curved shapes on a vertical wall, follow these steps:

Cut bendable wooden strips into the desired curve shape.

Assemble and fix the curved strips with horizontal wooden slats.

Apply fire-resistant boards and waterproof gypsum boards as the base layer on the frame.

Create grooves on the back of the gypsum board to allow for bending.

Once the base is prepared, smooth the surface by applying putty to avoid issues like unevenness or hollowing.

For areas exposed to water, an additional waterproof layer should be applied over the putty before installation.

  • 64. Will flexible stone allow water penetration? How should waterproofing be done?

Flexible stone is water-resistant and moisture-proof, but it is a surface decorative material and does not inherently have waterproof properties. Waterproofing needs to be achieved by applying a waterproof coating and ensuring proper waterproofing of the substrate.

  • 65. Why do the seams of flexible stone appear white, and how can they be treated?

    1. Grout applied too early: If the grout is pressed into the seam before it reaches the "semi-dry" state, it can contaminate the surface of the stone. If not cleaned promptly with a semi-dry cloth, it will dry and become difficult to remove.

Solution: Ensure the grout is in the semi-dry state before pressing and cleaning the seams. This is a common installation mistake that can be avoided with proper communication during installation.

    2. Dust from cutting: During cutting, dust can accumulate on the surface and may not be cleaned properly.

Solution: Wipe the surface with a semi-dry cloth to remove dust. Be sure to use a clean cloth to avoid further contamination.

  • 66. How to fix uneven seams between two installed flexible stone panels?

You can use a flat panel or small wooden board to gently tap the edges of the panels, ensuring the adhesive thickness on the back of the product is even. This will help make the seam more even.

  • 67. How to change tight seams to natural seams or color-matched grouting after installation?

You can use a handheld angle grinder (cutting machine) with a 2-3mm thick grinding disc. Use a straight wooden strip/board as a guide to cut along the seam. After cutting, use a fine brush to apply acrylic paint matching the product color to the seam.

Before painting, mask both sides of the seam with painter's tape to prevent leakage and ensure a clean finish. This method will give the seam a neater, more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

  • 68. What is the lead time for flexible stone?
    • In-stock products: 2-3 working days
    • Non-stock products: 7-15 working days
    • Custom-made products: 15-30 working days

(Transport time is not included in the lead time.)

  • 69. Can the lead time for flexible stone be compressed for urgent production?

This is an industrial product with multiple production processes, and sufficient time is required to complete them properly. If the normal production cycle is not met, it may affect the production process, quality control, and other procedures, leading to quality risks and delays in delivery. Therefore, urgent production may result in compromises in quality and timeline.

  • 70. What is the transportation method for flexible stone?
    • For domestic shipments, road transport is used.
    • For international shipments, sea freight is generally used. In special cases, air freight may be selecte

  • 71. Can cutting services be provided according to specific requirements? Can the dimensions be customized?

Flexible stone is easy to cut. On-site, a handheld angle grinder or woodworking table can be used for cutting without causing edge chipping or cracking. It is recommended to arrange the layout on-site before cutting to avoid creating non-standard sizes, which could increase packaging costs and lead to damage during transport.
